[b]Ability Data[/b]

[b]Toughened Structure:[/b] The frame of the Enduring Freedom was reinforced over the original specs.
[b]Variable Phase Shift Armor:[/b] In order to provide better protection, the Phase Shift Armor of the Enduring Freedom was replaced with Variable PSA. As well, the power levels were tweaked so that the armour provided the best protection possible.
[b]Hyper Deuterion Reactor:[/b] The Enduring Freedom was installed with a Hyper Deuterion nuclear reactor in place of it's original nuclear engine in order to provide a safer source of energy.
[b]Lightwave Shield:[/b] Using the newest technologies, the Enduring Freedom was equipped with a small generator that could produce a lightwave "shield", which could be used like a normal shield.
[b]Lightwave Field:[/b] Within the wings of the Enduring Freedom are larger lightwave generators, similar to the ones found on the Hyperion Gundam. With these, it is capable of generating an impenetrable wall around the mobile suit, which can be held up indefinately due to the continual energy given by the Hyper Deuterion reactor.
[b]"Voiture Lumiere" Propulsion System:[/b] The wings feature new high output thrusters developed from the "Voiture Lumiere" propulsion system used by the GSX-401FW Stargazer. A similar propulsion system is used by ZAFT's ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam.


[b]Weapon Data[/b]

[b]31mm CIWS:[/b] Head mounted vulcans.
[b]'Super Lacerta' Beam Saber:[/b] Upgraded versions of the original Freedom's beam sabers.
[b]'Screaming Nimbus' Scattering Beam Cannon:[/b] As VPSA is weak against beam weapons, the Enduring Freedom was equipped with a small scattering beam cannon in it's chest, similar to the kind used by the DOM Troopers. The cannon is not meant to deal damage (though it can if the enemy is close enough), instead it creates a small cloud in front of the mobile suit which absorbs beam energy.
[b]'Xiphias 3' Rail Cannon:[/b] Upgraded versions of the original Freedom's rail cannons.
[b]Hi-Energy Beam Rifle:[/b] The Enduring Freedom's beam rifles were replaced with a pair of hip mounted rifles that could be combined together for a more powerful shot.
[b]Hi-MAT Full Burst:[/b] The Enduring Freedom locks on to anything in front of it, and accurately fires all it's weapons, covering the area in destructive fire.


[b]Technical and Historical Notes[/b]

During the First Earth/ZAFT War in C.E. 71, ZAFT's ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam comes to be known as one of the most powerful mobile suits ever created. In the last stages of the war, ZAFT creates a successor unit, the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam. However, the Strike Freedom is stolen before its completion by Terminal, a secret organization associated with followers of Lacus Clyne.

Later, in early CE 74, the original Freedom Gundam was destroyed in combat with Shinn Asuka's ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam, nearly killing Kira Yamato. Worried that such an occurrence could happen again, with the newer and more powerful mobile suits being used by both sides of the war, the stolen Strike Freedom Gundam was refitted with enhanced defensive means, sacrificing some of it's previous offensive power. The finished unit was given to Kira after he uses the MBF-02 Strike Rouge to assist the Eternal, which was under attack by ZAFT forces.
