MXM-SM-CC-MA Mirage Assassin Matey

Armor Material: Matey-grade ablative armour
Height: 14.7m
Weight: 51.4 metric tons
Pilot(s): Richard Temple
Creator(s): Melarnic Galactic Merchant Exchange

Ability Data

Shield: The Mirage Assassin Matey is equipped with a small shield to help defend against attacks.
Solar Panels: Copying the technology from the [[Knight Matey]], the Mirage Assassin Matey uses a number of solar panels to keep the Dummy System powered.
Dummy System: An advanced suite of high-res sensors, ECM devices, and holographic projectors which work together to produce false images capable of fooling all conventional sensors. However, these devices also have a high energy requirement, thus limiting how long the system can remain active. If the solar panels are working at full capacity, however, the system can remain active nearly indefinately as long as the number of dummies are kept low. The added power can be used to project even more dummies, as well.

Weapon Data

60mm CIWS: Shoulder mounted vulcans for anti-personnel and anti-missile use.
Assassin Claws: Folding claws that are used to dig into an enemy matey and drain their energy.
Energy Rapier: An easy to handle, yet still potent energy saber.
Energy Machine Gun: An experimental weapon that fires energy rifle shots in rapid fire bursts.
Powered Sniper Rifle: A very potent sniper rifle. It has a secondary mode of fire that uses magnetic rails to accelerate the rounds further in order to better pierce the target's armor.
Dummy System Attack: The Mirage Assassin Matey confuses the enemy with attacks from some of it's images, while sneaking up on them and stabbing them in the back with his energy rapier.

Technical and Historical Notes

While the Mirage Matey was a highly effective unit, it's power issues ended up being a major hindrance against the 51st Combined Arms Regiment and the R-Matey. With the R-Matey starting to get the upper hand, Richard Temple ordered a series of upgrades done to the Mirage Matey to solve these issues.

The first issue was the intense power requirements of the Dummy System. The MRC technicians don't know enough about it's operations in order to make it more efficient, so they had to rely on external sources of power. One of the sources were the high-capacity solar collectors used by the Knight Matey. Mounting a number on an array that could be folded away into a backpack when not needed, the power requirements of the Dummy System can be met during optimal weather conditions, allowing for a small number of dummies to be generated for an indefinite amount of time. In the event that the weather is not good, or it is dark, a set of claws were mounted that can drain energy from whatever they dig into. While intended to be used on power transformers, they work equally well on enemy mateys.

In addition to the original weapons of the Mirage Matey, Richard decided to use an experimental sniper rifle that was found in one of the MGME caches. Using the rifle, he can attack while remaining out of sight, using the dummies to draw the attention of the enemy mateys.

The Mirage Assassin Matey was eventually destroyed in combat against Yor Dlanor and the Hyper Matey, killing Richard Temple. This effectively ended the war between the 51st Combined Arms Regiment and the MRC.
