Backstory

Once a Junk Guild member, Tir Arbuthnot now lives out his retirement in peace in a small cottage somewhere in southern Ontario. That was until the fighting between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance intensified. Soon his idyllic life was turned upside down by a vicious battle that erupted between a ZAFT transport and an EA patrol near his cottage. One of the transports was shot down, and crashes near Tir's home. He hurries to see if there are any survivors, and finds a badly wounded ZAFT soldier. The soldier tell Tir that there's a mobile suit in the cargo bay that contains information that must not fall into the hands of the Earth Alliance, and begs Tir to make sure it's safe.

Tir tries to contact the other members of the ZAFT unit, however they had retreated after seeing the transport go down, and the remaining EA forces have started to advance on it. With no other option, Tir rushes into the cargo bay, intending to destroy the mobile suit. However before he could finish, a shot struck the transport, causing him to fall into the mobile suit's cockpit. As Tir tried to leave, he accidentally closed the cockpit hatch and activated the mobile suit. As the machine boots up, he hears a voice asking who he is. Confused, he looks around to see who it could be, but cannot find anyone else in the cockpit. Again the voice asks the question, but this time Tir discovers that it's actually the mobile suit itself speaking. Tir responds, and the voice reveals itself as G.U.N.D.A.M., an advanced prototype artificial intelligence. It then asks if Tir requires assistance in operating the mobile suit, then prepares the weapon systems for battle...

And so begins Tir's new adventures, as he tries to discover who created the mysterious Impulse Gundam and it's AI.

ZGMF-X56S/τ Tir's Impulse Gundam

Armor Material:
Height: 17.76 meters
Weight: 63.54 metric tons
Pilot(s): Tir Arbuthnot
Creator(s): Integrated Design Bureau (ZAFT)

Ability Data

Variable Phase Shift Armor: An improved form of Phase Shift Armor used by the Impulse Gundam and the other Second Stage mobile suits. Based on the technology used in the Strike Rouge, this Variable Phase Shift Armor provides greater energy efficiency than previous versions, and its strength and coloration can be changed to meet the needs of the mobile suit and its pilot.
Deuterion Beam Receiver When the Impulse Gundam's energy runs low, it can receive the incoming energy beam from a supply station and completely recharge its battery.
Expandable Shield: A shield designed to absorb damage from weak beam-type attacks, and also has a small barrier generator within it to negate further damage.
G.U.N.D.A.M.: An AI system within the Impulse Gundam. Patterned on the brainwaves of it's creator, it is highly intelligent and fully capable of operating the Impulse Gundam by itself.

Weapon Data

20mm CIWS: Fire-linked vulcan guns mounted on the chest.
'Folding Razor' Anti-Armor Knives: Small knives stored on the hips.
Beam Pistols: Due to the amount of energy used by the beam rifle, Tir acquired a pair of beam pistols from an old acquaintance. Though less powerful then the rifle, each pistol was capable of more shots per charge.
Hand Grenades: Various grenades scavenged from ZAKU Warriors.
Anti-Armor Sword: In order to keep the generator drain as low as possible, Tir recovered one of a N Dagger N's anti-armor swords after a battle, to use instead of the beam saber.
Beam Saber: Unlike the standard Impulse Gundam, Tir's Impulse came with a beam saber, stored in a holder on the right hip.
Hi-Energy Beam Rifle: A standard beam rifle.
90mm Chaingun: Using some of his old contacts, Tir acquired a prototype hand held chaingun. It features a very high rate of fire, and also can use a new new hypervelocity bullet. However, these bullets are difficult to come across, so Tir tends to use conventional bullets instead.

Technical and Historical Notes

A mysterious mobile suit, it seems to have been prepared for a certain purpose, but that purpose is unclear. The frame is identical to an Impulse Gundam, however the core block system seems to have been removed and replaced with a standard cockpit block. It seems to have been done in order to install additional computers to run the advanced AI system which calls itself G.U.N.D.A.M..

The Impulse Gundam came with mostly the same default weapon loadout as Shinn Asuka's Impulse, however along Tir's adventures he scavenged additional ones from friends or battlefields.
