Vic Viper T-301

Armor Material: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Pilot(s): Unknown
Creator(s): Earth Forces

Ability Data

Force Field: A small force field generator, to help with the Vic Viper's survivability. It is able to deflect most WORM ranged attacks.

Weapon Data

Beam Cannons: Small rapid fire beam cannons mounted on the front of the plane.
Missiles: 2 missiles mounted on the Vic Viper's wings.
Cluster Bombs: The Vic Viper Mk2 carries a cluster bomb on each wing, effective against large and slow WORM.
Options: 4 small weapon pods, stored in mounts under the fusilage of the Vic Viper. When launched, they can independantly track and engage the WORM, or help protect the Vic Viper.
Large Beam Cannon: By charging energy from the beam cannons, the Vic Viper can fire a large and powerful beam shot which deals heavy damage to a WORM.
Option Lock: The Vic Viper uses it's Options to trap the WORM, and put it into a harmonizing effect, destroying a large number of cells at once. However, because the Options cannot truely make a nanomachine connection like the Sonic Divers, the attack is not as effective.
Viper Wing Lock: A wing of 3 Vic Vipers combine their Options during an Option Lock, dramatically increasing the effect of the attack.

Technical and Historical Notes:

While the Sonic Divers proved to be the most effective weapon against the WORM, the fact that they require signifigant amounts of maintenance, costly nanomachine treatments, and very specalized pilots causes the Earth forces to continue looking for alternatives. One of these alternatives calls for a few upgrades to the already effective Vic Viper.

The Vic Viper already outperforms the Sonic Divers in mobility and weaponry, however even the Vic Viper's superior arsenal isn't as effective against a WORM as the Sonic Divers' Delta Lock and Quadra Lock combination attacks. In an attempt to make the Vic Viper a more reasonable alternative, the Vic viper's Options were modified in a way to allow them to perform an "ad-hoc" Delta Lock. In addition, a number of other upgrades were performed to improve the overall firepower and survivability of the Vic Viper.

Unfortunately, the upgraded Vic Viper, (called the Vic Viper mk2) was finished too late to be used in the final battle against the WORM nest, and is currently sitting in storage.
