The pack was mostly designed using the VSBR pack of the Gundam F90, however the VSBR was upgraded, and tweaked for better performance with the Biocomputer. Unfortunately, the advanced VSBR was not produced in time to be added to the Gundam F91, and so the VSBR pack was shelved and forgotten. F90II-F Gundam F90II Funnel Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90II-F Name: Gundam F90II Funnel Type Unit Type: Newtype-use mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.4m Weight: Empty 11.2 metric tons, max gross weight 33.7 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4150 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; biocomputer system; extra energy packs; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use; 6 x funnel remote weapon, stored in backpack recharge rack; shield, hand carried; spray beam pod, shoulder mounted; Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; smart beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; Technical and Historical Notes One of several Gundam F90II optional armament variations developed by the Earth Forces' SNRI during the warly UC 0120s, the F90II-V Gundam F90II Funnel Type (or "F-Type", for short) was designed to further test and improve Newtype-use all-range weapons. While all-range weapons mostly fell into disuse after the Mafty incident, recent technological advances have improved the use of remotely operated weaponry. Newly developed miniturized beam cannons and energy packs allow for remote weapons to operate longer, and deal far more damage while still retaining the same size and maneuverability as those before. To help support the unit in close combat, the F-pack also included a smart beam rifle and a spray beam pod. F90II-N Gundam F90II iNcom Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90II-N Name: Gundam F90II iNcom Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.4m Weight: Empty 11.2 metric tons, max gross weight 33.7 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4150 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; biocomputer system; extra energy packs; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use; 4 x incom remote weapon, stored in backpack recharge rack; shield, hand carried; 2 x reflector incom, knee mounted; spray beam pod, shoulder mounted; Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; smart beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; Technical and Historical Notes One of several Gundam F90II optional armament variations developed by the Earth Forces' SNRI during the warly UC 0120s, the F90II-V Gundam F90II iNcom Type (or "N-Type", for short) was designed to further test and improve non-Newtype use all-range weapons. In addition, the Biocomputer allows the pilot to be able to track more remote weapons then previous incom-type mobile suits. Because of both of these, the N-pack is capable of storing more incoms then any previous mobile suit. To help support the unit in close combat, the N-pack also included a smart beam rifle and a spray beam pod. F90III-Y-T Cluster Gundam Trainer Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-T Name: Cluster Gundam Trainer Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 16.3m Weight: Empty 14.2 metric tons, max gross weight 37.2 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; multi-use grenade launcher Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI got to work recovering the data they had lost back at the main lab. In order to help with this, they built a special training pack for the Cluster Gundam. This pack, which replaces the Core Booster backpack, had a second cockpit in which to put a researcher or instructor. The cockpit was wired via the hardpoint connectors into the Cluster Gundam's main computer, and was given an exact replica of the data that the main cockpit would receive. This is handy to researchers, because they can get a first-hand look at the results, and instructors can also better assist their students from the backup cockpit. On a request from some of the EF instructors, the SNRI installed an override switch in the backup cockpit, which allows instructors the ability to take command of the Cluster Gundam, in case they wish to provide first-hand examples or just in case of emergency. The armaments of the T-Type (or Trainer Type) were largly unchanged from that of the original Cluster Gundam, except for the addition of a multi-use grenade launcher. The launcher could shoot standard grenades in addition to chaff, flare, smoke, and incendiary types, as required. To make use of the leftover hardpoints, and to help protect the unit during training, the SNRI installed extra plates of Gundarium over the Cluster Gundam. These plates were also treated with an anti-beam coating, for further protection against the weapons of the era. F90III-Y-T Cluster Gundam eXam Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-X Name: Cluster Gundam eXam Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.4m Weight: Empty 12.2 metric tons, max gross weight 33.2 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; EXAM System Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; 1 x magnetic acceleration cannon, clip fed, 2 x spare clips stored under hip plates Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI's first priority was locating a new base of operations. One of the locations they found turned out to be an old labratory, apparently dating back to the One Year War. Inside the lab, the SNRI researchers found research data on something called an "EXAM System", and even found a working device locked in a high-security vault. While the labratory turned out to be unsuitable for SNRI's uses, they took the EXAM System and it's data along with them. After studying the data they received, the SNRI researchers decided to build the system into a pack for use on the Cluster Gundam to test it in the field. In addition to the normal weapons of the Cluster Gundam, the X-Type (or eXam Type) also included an experimental rail cannon. The cannon, while having a small clip size, was able to control the output velocity of the round, for greater damage control. In addition, the SNRI researchers discovered that at certain velocities, the bullets had so much kinetic force that conventional MS armour (and many unconventional types, as well) might as well not have even been there, as the bullets just blew right through them without slowing down. The cannon had a few kinks left in it, which is probably why it was never mass produced, but the SNRI were able to fix all the problems before fielding it on the Cluster Gundam. F90III-Y-J Cluster Gundam Jammer Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-J Name: Cluster Gundam Jammer Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 16.3m Weight: Empty 15.3 metric tons, max gross weight 38.7 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; missile jammer; minovsky particle scattering system; heat shields; extra energy packs Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; multi-use grenade launcher Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI's first priority was locating a new base of operations. While they were doing this, they needed to evade notice by Crossbone Vanguard patrols. In order to escape notice, the SNRI needed a way to fool the Vanguard sensors so they could pass through undetected. They lucked out one day, discovering a wrecked EF battleship whos minovsky scattering system was still intact. By miniturizing the generator and release systems, they were able to just barely make it small enough to fit on the Cluster Gundam. The scattering system, while highly effective, took an enormous toll on the Cluster Gundam's reactor, so extra energy packs and miniture generators were added to increase its reserves. The J-Type (or Jammer Type) also included a missile jammer system and heat shields to reduce the Cluster Gundam's profile on radar and IR sensors, making it hard to target or track. In addition, the pack also used the same multi-use grenade launcher as on the T-Type, though it usually deployed with more chaff and smoke grenades then the other types. F90III-Y-C Cluster Gundam Close-Combat Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-C Name: Cluster Gundam Close-Combat Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.8m Weight: Empty 11.2 metric tons, max gross weight 31.8 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; mega beam shotgun, powered by rechargable e-pac; hyper beam saber, reactor-fed; EM system interference kit Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI got to work recovering the data they had lost back at the main lab. Part of that data was for a close-combat mission pack. This pack was intended to be a fast-moving unit, capable of closing in with the enemy and quickly disabling it. The first part was accomplished with the addition of additional thrusters onto various hardpoints, giving the C-Type (or Close-Combat Type) incredible maneuverability. Weapons-wise, the mega beam bazookas were replaced with a mega beam shotgun. The shotgun, while having the same power output as the bazooka, spreads the fire over a large area, but is very very short-ranged. The damage is also spread out, but it becomes much harder to defend against since it covers such a large area. The shotgun uses a little more energy per shot then the bazooka does, however. In addition, the pack also includes a variable power hyper beam saber, and a system interference kit which is used to disrupt enemy MS systems, rendering them immobile. The kit requires contact with the enemy, however, either through the Cluster Gundam physically touching it, or by using the grappling pods the kit is equipped with. F90III-Y-U Cluster Gundam Urban Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-U Name: Cluster Gundam Urban Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.3m Weight: Empty 11.5 metric tons, max gross weight 35.6 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; multi-use grenade launcher; flame thrower; beam smartgun, powered by replacable e-pac; dual-feed sniper rifle, powered by replacable e-pac and clips, spare clips and e-pacs stored under hip plates; "snub cannon" short barreled 150mm cannon, clip fed Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI got to work recovering the data they had lost back at the main lab. Part of that data was for a mission pack designed for fighting in urban and colony areas. To reduce excessive damage to the terrain or colony itself, the pack would use a number of short range or high-accuracy weapons instead of high-powered missiles or beam cannons which could potentially deal devistating damage to colony walls. The pack also included extra anti-beam coating treated Gundarium plating over many of the hardpoints, since most of the fighting would be in close quarters. For weapons, the usual beam bazookas of the Cluster Gundam were considered too powerful for urban fighting, so the U-Type (or Urban Type) replaces it with a short barreled 150mm tank cannon, also known as a "snub cannon". Snub cannons deal devistating damage at short range, but are very ineffective against colony walls and terrain, and lose most of their strength at long range. For higher accuracy attacks, the U-Type brings a beam smartgun and a dual feed sniper rifle, capable of firing both beams and solid rounds, depending on the situation. Finally, for anti-infantry and bunker busting roles, the U-Type has a small flamethrower and a multi-use grenade launcher, like the one used on the T-Type, though it usually has more incendiary and smoke rounds then standard grenades. F90B Gundam F90 Biocomputer Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90B Name: Gundam F90 Biocomputer Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 14.8m Weight: Empty 10.6 metric tons, max gross weight 20.4 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 3160 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; biocomputer system; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use; beam shield, mounted on left forearm hardpoint; spare beam shield, stored on right hip armour hardpoint; Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; mega beam bazooka, powered by replacable e-pac; long rifle, dual-use beam and shell-firing weapon, powered by replaceable e-pac in beam rifle mode, clip-fed in shell-firing rifle mode, 6 rounds per clip, base of rifle mounted on backpack hardpoint, hand-operated in use, 1 spare clip stored on left hip armor hardpoint, 2 spare e-pacs stored on leg hardpoints; beam shot lancer, powered by rechargeable energy cap Technical and Historical Notes Before the defeat and capture of the stolen OMS-90R Gundam F90, the researchers of the SNRI tinkered with the idea of using the original Gundam F90 as a testbed for their new "Biocomputer" system, a derivative of the classic psycommu system which relayed tactical data, sensor system input, and piloting control advice directly to into the pilot's brain. When the OMS-90R was recovered however, they decided that it would be best to do a complete overhaul of it to better utilize the Biocomputer's power. Because of this, the plans for the F90B mission pack were shelved. The plans included many enhancements and equipment that would eventually be added to the F90II. Because of the interface systems, the prototype Biocomputer system was theorized to work at a reduced efficiency in the F90B, though it was still very potent. The F90B also included a beam shield instead of the standard shield used by most other F90 packs. The F90B used the same weapons as the original F90, but had prototype versions of the beam shot lancer and dual feed long rifle which were found on the F90II-I and F90II-L packs as well. It's unsure just how well the F90B would have performed, though it's theorized that the prototype weapons would have put too much of a strain on the F90's reactor, limiting their use. F90III-Y-K Cluster Gundam Kai General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-K Name: Cluster Gundam Kai Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.0m Weight: Empty 10.2 metric tons, max gross weight 27.2 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite with anti-beam coating on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; biocomputer system Fixed Armaments: 2 x 68mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 2 x heavy machine gun, fire-linked, mounted in left forearm; 1 x VSBR (Variable Speed Beam Rifle), selectable mega particle acceleration speed for damage or penetration application, with attached beam cannon, mounted on left arm, hand-operated in use; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; 1 x G-BRD (Generative Beam Rifle Device), selectable mega particle acceleration speed for damage or penetration application, attached to Top Fighter to operate as a booster Technical and Historical Notes While the F90III-Y performed well with it's upgrade packs, the SNRI realized it was starting to quickly fall behind in terms of base technology. After it was nearly defeated in an engagement with the Crossbone Vanguard's Dark Tiger force, the SNRI fleet finally decided to build an entirely new top fighter system for the F90III-Y to bring it more up to speed with the times. Building off of a spare top fighter, the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam Kai Top Fighter started with adding layers of beam resistant coating to the Gundarium to provide extra protection against the heavy use of beam weapons found by the Crossbone Vanguard. Inside a compartment on the back, they also added a "cloak" made of a prototype anti-beam material stolen from the Crossbone Vanguard which the F90III-Y Kai could wrap around itself if necessary. The internal weaponry of the F90III-Y Kai was also upgraded. Larger calibur vulcans and better generators and emitters for the beam weapons provided a minor but worthwhile upgrade to the natural firepower of the F90III-Y Kai. The new Top Fighter also included added boosters, and when in MS form, the left arm booster revealed a VSBR mounted inside it, as well as a pair of heavy machineguns which was salvaged from wreckage of the Silhouette Gundam after it's fight with the Dark Tiger force. The right arm booster was actually a G-BRD, which was found near the site of the battle between the 2 Neo Gundam units. The internals of the Top Fighter were also streamlined for easier operation. In addition, a Biocomputer system was installed to further enhance the pilot's capabilities. With these upgrades, the SNRI believed that the Cluster Gundam Kai would be much better equipped to handle the new types of threats from the Crossbone Vanguard. F90III-Y-O Cluster Gundam reOn Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-O Name: Cluster Gundam reOn Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.0m Weight: Empty 12.1 metric tons, max gross weight 29.2 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; anti-funnel system; Zephyr Phantom System Mk-II "REON" system Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; 1 x G-BRD (Generative Beam Rifle Device), selectable mega particle acceleration speed for damage or penetration application; 2 x mega beam guns, powered by replacable e-pac Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI's first priority was locating a new base of operations. One of the locations they found turned out to be an old labratory, though it didn't look like it was abandoned for long. The lab seemed to have been studying the psychowaves that Newtypes are able to emit and control, and how to counter them. Newtypes and all-range weapons were no longer as widely used as they once were, so the SNRI found the research data to be more interesting then useful. In their spare time, a few decided to build one of the "anti-funnel systems" which was outlined in the data. Though the lab was eventually deemed unusable, the SNRI still managed to walk away with some replacement equipment, and a copy of the combat AI which was found in the MS which used the original anti-funnel system. The O Type (or reOn Type) pack for the F90III-Y incorporates this anti-funnel system, as well as the Zephyr Phantom System AI in order to control it. As the pack was mostly just a passtime project of some of the SNRI personel, it was only given a pair of mega beam guns found at the REON labs, as well as the recovered G-BRD found at the site of the Neo Gundam final battle in addition to it's regular weapons. It's not really expected that this pack will perform well in combat situations, but it works well in relieving boredom around the fleet during the long and stressful trips, keeping out of the way of Crossbone Vanguard patrols. F90III-Y-W Cluster Gundam Worker Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-W Name: Cluster Gundam Worker Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.0m Weight: Empty 11.7 metric tons, max gross weight 35.6 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; equipment for repairs/replenishment of fleet resources Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; Technical and Historical Notes Since the SNRI fleet was cut off from most space docks, they were forced to convert some of their limited numbers of mobile suits and mobile pods to be capable of performing extensive repair and replenishment of the fleet while in transit. The W Type (or Worker Type) was one of these modifications. The Cluster Gundam is equipped with boxes of metal patches, cranes, electrical kits, welders, and other equipment required to perform quick repairs on SNRI fleet equipment. In addition, it also carried spare e-pacs, extra strength batteries, and spare munitions for quick resupply of fleet weapons. Since the W Type was designed for a support role, away from the main fighting, the weaponry was no more than that of the regular Cluster Gundam, though there were added armour plates (in addition to all the repair supplies) to reduce the effect of any impacts or enemy weapons. F90III-Y-W Cluster Gundam Remote Type General and Technical Data Model Number: F90III-Y-R Name: Cluster Gundam Remote Type Unit Type: Mobile suit Manufacturer: Strategic Naval Research Institute Operator: Earth Federation Forces Accommodation: Pilot only Dimensions: Head height, 15.0m Weight: Empty 10.1 metric tons, max gross weight 32.2 metric tons Construction: Gundarium alloy/ceramic composite on movable frame Powerplant: Minovsky type ultra-compact fusion reactor, power output rated at 4550 kW Equipment: Sensors, range unknown; Core Block System; Fixed Armaments: 2 x 60mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam vulcan, fire-linked, mounted in head; 2 x beam saber, stored in recharge racks in backpack, hand-carried in use, double as fire-linked beam guns on Core Booster; 2 x long range incom, stored in recharge racks in backpack; 1 x beam shield, mounted on either forearm hardpoint Optional Armaments: beam rifle, powered by replacable e-pac; 2 x mega beam bazooka, powered by rechargable e-pac; 8 x remote drones, equiped with miniture mega particle cannon and advanced sensor systems; 1 x extended range beam sniper rifle, powered by replacable e-pac Technical and Historical Notes After the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam escaped from Frontier I during the Crossbone Vanguard's assault in UC 0123, the SNRI's first priority was locating a new base of operations. While they were doing this, they needed to evade notice by Crossbone Vanguard patrols. In order to escape notice, the SNRI needed a way to detect Vanguard patrols well out of range of their sensors. To accomplish this, the SNRI developed a remote drone which could be controled via tight-beam laser communications, which are relayed between repeaters regularly droped by the drone as it moves in it's searching pattern. Already difficult to detect because of it's size, the drone was also covered in IR and sensor absorbing materials to make it almost undetectable. In the event that the drones are detected, however, they have a small mega particle cannon capable of fending off a single enemy long enough for the drone to retreat back within range of allied weapons. To use this new capability, the drones were put into a pack for the F90III-Y Cluster Gundam. The R Type (or Remote Type) also included a number of other extended range weapons to support it's role. A beam sniper rifle was given enhanced emitters and targeting systems to greatly increase it's effective range, while a pair of old incoms the SNRI fleet found were fitted with extended control lines to allow them to be deployed much farther then they could have been before. In normal deployment, the R Type would be well back from the enemy forces, well out of their effective weapon or sensor ranges. It would then deploy the remote drones to gather intelligence about the enemy formation, relaying it all back to the SNRI fleet. If the drones are detected and engaged, it supports their retreat with it's extreme range weapons, hopefully detering the enemies long enough for the main defence team to deploy.
