Kyrie and Mel awaken from what feels like a long sleep together on the floor of a smooth but shallow stone cave, both of them suffering from a pounding headache. A stream of sunlight shines through the mouth of the cave and illuminates where you are slightly, causing you to wince from the sudden light. About sixty feet away, Syrel finds herself in much the same situation in another cave with unnaturally smooth and rounded grey walls, leaning up against the wall with a pounding headache and no idea of how she came to be there. "Where...am I?" Kyrie murmurs as she places a hand to her forehead, slowly getting to her feet before stumbling a bit. "My head..." *Rubs her head as she squints heavily, having a look around* What in the Nine Hells...this isn't my house... * Mel_Aerafina shakes her head lightly, taking a time to recall her thoughts. She is unable to, though. It is as if she had forgotten everything up to this very moment, except a few, vital things. It is like... She had been born again. Getting up as best as she can, she offers a hand to Kyrie if she needs help to get up. * Kyrie_Aerafina takes Mel's hand gratefully, shaking her head a bit and wincing. "Are you okay, Mel? Do you have any idea of where we are?" *Picking herself up, she tries to get on her feet and starts looking around the cave fractically* Oh gods...Ani, Cath, are either of you here?\ * Mel_Aerafina shrugs, and shakes her head. Through the mouth of the cave, you look out and down upon a wide and verdant valley, stretching out as far as the eye can see forward and to the right. To the left is the edge of the valley, and several miles away a strange and tall mountain that stands out among the other peaks due to its height and the eldritch purple flame burning above its peak. * Kaiterra has joined #nova-prologues The nearby forest is remarkable for what seems to be a large circle of desolation, with some charred and ruined buildings in it. " * Mel_Aerafina hmms, and after inspecting Syrel, she decides that she's not dangerous for them. She decides to approach a bit more to her, greeting kindly with a gentle bow. *Bows back ever so slightly and begins to walk toward the other cave to inspect it for anyone else* I don't suppose either of you have seen a moon elf woman or a tiefling child around here, have you? 6<<3 Perception check once you go to look in the other cave. 6>> * Mel_Aerafina shakes her head. But still...things are really strange..." * Mel_Aerafina looks thoughtful, and starts thinking what could be the reason of this weird happening. *She frowns a bit at the two Elan, walking over to them and kneeling down* So you were separated from your parents? That's terrible. * Kyrie_Aerafina nods, a small frown on her face. << Correction. She looks thoughtful for a moment, then tries to look for a place from which they can go down the mountain and explore this strange region a bit. "Perhaps we should go see what's going on? I mean, if it's okay if we can travel with you." Kyrie asks. "I wouldn't want to impose or anything." The hillside downward isn't steep at all. Behind you, though, the mountain rapidly becomes steeper. You probably wouldn't be able to scale it to the peak without magic or amazing skill. *Shakes her head and smiles at the two Elan warmly* I wouldn't mind it at all. I'd be a terrible person if I left two children on their own out here. Though it could be dangerous. * Mel_Aerafina looks at Kyrie, then points down the hillside, obviously wanting to motion her to walk down the hill with her. "We can handle it." Kyrie smiles. "Now, shall we go? I think Mel's ready to leave." Kyrie turns to her sister and grabs her hand before walking down the hillside with her. *Nods firmly and follows along, making it a point to stay at least even in like with the children* * Mel_Aerafina nods, smiling lightly again, then walks down the hill with her sis towards who-knows-what is waiting for them there. The drop off from verdant forest to blighted and burned land is striking, and it seems like not a single living thing exists within 250 feet of the ruins. "I don't like this..." Kyrie murmurs as she looks between the ruins and the forest around her. "It's a little frightening...I wish I knew what had happened here." *Looks around at the ruins, frowning at the destruction and shaking her head* I wonder what happened here? * Mel_Aerafina pats Kyrie's shoulder in a reassuring way, smiling at her. What caused the destruction is not readily apparent, especially from this distance. Still, it seems like a less than safe place. *She unstraps the Halberd from her back and turns to the two children* These ruins might hold some answers to how we got here, but it looks like it could be dangerous. "I know...I don't know if it's a good idea to go searching when we know so little though. But if you think we can find some answers in here, I'll be willing to explore a little more." Kyrie says, reassured by Mel's pat. I don't know what to think to be honest. I also don't know where to go. "That's true..." *Sighs, and pats the two children on the shoulder* I don't suppose either of you have ever been in a fight? * Mel_Aerafina nods, and points to the huge blade she's carrying on her back. *Blinks for a second and looks a bit suprised* Oh...I thought that was a toy or something.. Everything or nothing could be there... The three of you retreat from the ruins, which are yet as still as death, and into the woods. A road leads deeper into the woods and to the left, towards the center of the valley. ....far, far around. "Please don't say stuff like that..." Kyrie murmurs as she leaves the ruins. Well....which way? * Mel_Aerafina does not say anything else, to that matter. Just keeps walking. She still seems to have a fly behind her ear... Once you get back into the woods, the air feels much lighter and cleaner, and everything seems much more vibrant and lively. "...okay..." she mutters lightly, then closes her eyes and tries to rest a bit. "Ah... there are certainly healers in Greendale who will see to her wounds. I came to meet the three of you as a request from Atma, and bring you back to him. He's been expecting you." "Expecting?" Kyrie says, calming down. You'll have to forgive me, but I don't seem to be from around here. Where is Greendale and who is this Atma? The knight takes off her helmet, revealing nearly jet-black skin and long, blonde hair. "Yes. Ah, I'm sorry. Greendale is the capital of this land, about sixty miles northeast of here. Kyrie says. "Please, Mel, don't overreact." *Nods to Kyrie* I agree. This still is all very odd though. Like some kind of dream. "..." *She turns to look at Akasha* I don't suppose you've ever heard of Faerun. Waterdeep maybe? "N...o. I've never heard of either of those." In a flash of blue light from Akasha's hand, the world fades out and is replaced by new scenery, that of the cobblestone plaza in front of a great cathedral with walls of silver in the center of a large town. * Mel_Aerafina suddenly feels she's lying on uncomfortable cobblestone, and tries to get up again, holding herself on her sword to get up. *Looks around the temple in awe* Standing in front of the cathedral's main doors is a glorious being floating two inches above the ground, wearing elaborate plate armor seemingly made entirely out of gold and platinum, including great metal wings that stretch easily five feet out to each side from his shoulders. The only visible part of his body is his head, and he has no face, his head being but a brilliant light instead. Akasha immediately drops to her knees facing the being. "Lord Atma!"
