Go around in a circle until everyone has five. "Well, you want cards that are the same rank... like two threes or four jacks. The more of same card, the better. Higher ranks beat lower ranks." "Also, having all your cards in the same suit... or having them in a series... like 3-4-5-6-7, are also good." "Before you do, remember that you want different combinations of cards. Pairs, triples, quadruples, or a run of all the same suit. OR, a run of increasing numbers. Like, three through seven." "O-Oh." Karin frowns. "Oh." * Maple gently pushes the cards back into her hand. "Make sure you don't get rid of the ones you need to win." This is a game of chance, you could get any card back for ones you drop... but knowing which ones to drop and when to call and when to raise and when to fold, that's where the skill comes in. Karin nods and timidly begins dealing the cards. * Aerandir checks his cards and glances at the girls. He tilts his head at Karin. "Are you always so quiet?" "H-Huh?! Um...yeah. I...didn't really...you know, talk much where I lived and people were fine with it." Karin mumbles as she stares at her cards. * Maple picks up her cards, glances at the deck, then discards one.
